welcome to the chronicles of my journey and process - as an artist, as I prepare to move to Morocco, and as I live each day by faith.
~ Rachel Pearsey

I love art in airports!
I’ve been traveling lately, speaking and doing book signings for my book, The Coming. Last weekend I flew to Sacramento, CA and when I arrived at the baggage claim area to get my suitcases (full of books, prints and cards), I was greeted by these wonderful sculptures that made me smile! Aren’t they great?! For one who loves old trunks and suitcases, it was quite exciting to see these pillars of real antique luggage piled to the ceiling! So ingenious!
This art piece was created by Brian Goggin in 1998. It’s called “Sampson” and 700 pieces of luggage were used to make it. Click on his name above to see some of his other work - it’s really quite fascinating!
This weekend I’m in Seattle, WA for another book signing. The Oakland airport (were I had a layover) also had some cool art, and I’ll post about that as soon as I get the pictures off of my camera.

I save them from the trash when their contents are emptied and they have no value to others. But they are valuable to to me, and I transform them from discarded glass into prized treasures sitting on my shelf. I wash them and set them up to be enjoyed and admired, and to hold wonderful things. We are like those discarded jars in the trash. We possess no value of our own. We are filthy and smelly with the rottenness that’s inside of us. There is no reason anyone should desire us. We are labeled as waste and doomed for the dump. But God reaches down and picks us out (through no merit of our own). He redeems us, saying “This jar that was once trash, I now call my own prized possession!” He washes us clean, and fills us with His treasure. He sets us on His windowsill for all to see and marvel at, as His light shines through our glass and creates sparkling reflections off of our new contents. He has a whole collection of jars that He created for His display, each of which He has redeemed from the trash. We are all unique – different heights, sizes and colors, with different uses, for the greatest display of His glory.
Redeemed.

Only 4 left.
As we raise our hands to give glory to God, we are at the same time receiving from Him the all-satisfying joy that He gives when we delight in Him. This is because the chief end of man – the purpose for which we were created – is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. The glorifying and the delighting are one. The expending of our lives toward this end is our highest aim.

“Delight yourself in the Lord.” Psalm 37:4

“Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the earth (says the Lord), everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory.” Isaiah 43:6-7
They were made with archival paper, but the business did not guarantee the longevity of the inks they used. They will probably remain light-fast for years without fading, but I can't guarantee them as I can all my other Giclée Prints, which are made with pigment ink and proven to last over 100 years. So if guaranteed longevity isn't an issue for you, here's a great deal! Only $25 (others of this size sell for $60). Only 8 available. Click HERE to see it in the Friday Outlet.

It’s called The Friday Outlet - a collection of seconds, extras and slightly imperfect books...all at a great discount! I’ll be adding a new item to the outlet every Friday, so be sure to check in.
The idea for this was born because I have some books that came from the printer with slight imperfections in the covers - a scratch, a dinged corner, etc. Since I couldn’t sell an imperfect book for full price, I figured this would be a great opportunity to make them available to you at a discount! And the imperfections are hardly noticeable since the printed cover is designed to look like an old, worn, well-loved book anyway! Click on the book to see it in The Friday Outlet. It’s only $28 - over 25% off!

Also featured in the Outlet will be items like test prints of my paintings - created with the same archival paper and pigment ink, but with slight variance in color from the originals, since they were created when testing for the color accuracy of the limited edition prints.
Beautiful, long-lasting prints at a great discount!

And The Friday Outlet will be the place to find special promotions and sales I’ll be having periodically.

Enjoy! And be sure to check in on Fridays!
